1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PalindReceipt ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PalindReceipt is a tip calculator application that helps users calculate tips resulting in palindrome totals. The App also provides features for scanning receipts, generating PDF records, and tracking receipt reconciliation status.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Rent, lease, or lend the App to third parties
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Remove any proprietary notices from the App

4. Free Version and In-App Purchases

The App is available as a free download with limited functionality (3 receipt saves). A one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited receipt saving ("Full Version").

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. We do not process payments directly.

Purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies. To request a refund, please contact Apple directly through the App Store.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your device
  • All data you enter into the App
  • Backing up your data (the App stores data locally and does not provide cloud backup)
  • Using the App in compliance with all applicable laws

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF CALCULATIONS

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PALINDRECEIPT, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Any loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App
  • Any financial losses, including those related to tip fraud that the App fails to detect

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).

8. No Financial Advice

The App is a utility tool for calculating tips. It does not provide financial, legal, or other professional advice. The palindrome technique is offered as a convenience for fraud detection but is not guaranteed to prevent or detect all instances of fraud.

You should always:

  • Review your receipts and bank statements carefully
  • Report suspected fraud to your bank or credit card company
  • Keep original receipts when possible
  • Use additional fraud protection measures as appropriate

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PalindReceipt and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Modifications to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the App at any time
  • Update these Terms at any time

Continued use of the App after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PalindReceipt regarding the App.
