Introduction
PalindReceipt ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App").
The short version: We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers. Everything stays on your device.
Information We Do NOT Collect
PalindReceipt is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not:
- Collect personal information
- Track your location remotely
- Access your contacts, calendars, or other apps
- Use analytics or tracking services
- Send data to external servers
- Require account creation or login
- Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Receipt Records: Bill amounts, tip amounts, totals, timestamps, and any notes you add.
- Scanned Images: Photos of receipts you scan using the document scanner.
- Location Data: If you enable location services, GPS coordinates and venue names may be attached to receipts. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted.
- App Preferences: Your tip percentage preferences and settings.
- Purchase Status: Whether you have purchased the full version (stored locally and verified through Apple's StoreKit).
All of this data remains on your device. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app or individual receipts within the app.
Location Services
PalindReceipt may request access to your device's location services. This is entirely optional and used only to:
- Tag receipts with the location where they were created
- Auto-detect venue names for your convenience
Location data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. You can disable location access at any time in your device's Settings.
Camera and Photo Access
The App may request access to your camera to scan receipts. Scanned images are:
- Stored locally on your device
- Used only to generate PDF records
- Never uploaded or transmitted anywhere
In-App Purchases
PalindReceipt offers an in-app purchase to unlock the full version. This transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for information about how Apple handles payment data.
Third-Party Services
PalindReceipt does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service used is Apple's StoreKit for processing in-app purchases, which is governed by Apple's privacy policies.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security settings. We recommend:
- Using a device passcode or biometric authentication
- Keeping your device's operating system up to date
- Using device encryption (enabled by default on iOS)
Children's Privacy
PalindReceipt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we don't collect any personal information from any users, this is inherently satisfied.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
